Dana Reyes
Dana Reyes runs propulsion at Halcyon, where she leads the team behind the HX-1 engine that powers the Vireo launch vehicle. She joined in September 2026, three weeks before the engine's first full-duration hot-fire.
Before Halcyon she spent seven years at Meridian Launch, taking its booster engine from early test firings to its first orbital flight and its first reflight. Engineers who worked with her describe a test lead who would rather fire one more time than guess.
She started her career at Pacific Aero Corp in Burbank, running static fire campaigns on legacy programs. She studied mechanical engineering and still spends launch days at the test stand.
Leads the propulsion team of about 40 engineers building the HX-1 engine for Vireo. Took the engine through its first full-duration hot-fire in October 2026 and now owns the path to stage qualification.
Built the booster engine program from early test firings to flight. Led propulsion for the first orbital flight in 2023 and the first booster reflight in 2024, growing the test team from six people to thirty.
Ran static fire and stage test campaigns on legacy launch programs in Burbank. Wrote the test procedures still used on the company's refueler program today.
